NCSIG is committed to supporting the safety and wellbeing of students while reducing the risk of liability for district staff. The purpose of this policy is to promote a safe classroom environment for all staff, students, and volunteers. Potential misconduct, inappropriate behavior and injuries can be prevented by designing appropriate boundaries in the classroom.
Non-commercial grade, or household furniture, is not suitable for classroom use and is not permissible in the classroom.
Examples of furniture that is not acceptable:
- Bench-type seating in secluded areas
- Cloth bean bags
- Cots
- Beds
- Tents
- Couches
- Futons
